Will you help with funeral expenses?

I'm trying to find money for funeral expenses for my mom.  She was diagnosed with lung cancer that had spread to her brain abut 4 months ago.  She had a stroke last week and the docs didn't think she would make it through the day but she has surprised everyone.  All the doctors agree though that the cancer will kill her in the next 6 months.  She has no life insurance and is on social security.  I have moved her in with me but I am a single mother of 4.  I have been doing what I can to take care of her and continue to work but I am only getting like 20 hours a week in lately.  The bills are already getting behind.  I worry that I will not be able to pay the rent.  I don't know how I can come up with money to take care of funeral expenses.  Will you please help me?  I want to take care of my mom and I don't want her to worry about these things anymore.  Thank you and God bless you.

Cathy, Are your mother and your family open to the thought of creamation? It is much less expensive than your average funerals. I think they run as cheap as $800 to a thousand dollars (for creamation). You can buy your own urn from anywhere. This will also eliminate the need for a burial plot if she does not already have one. I know this is NOT for everyone and is a very difficult decision. This is just a thought to help in the finance department that one can check out. I am so sorry your mother is ill. I will pray that she does not have need of funeral services at all any time soon. Take care, ekikaseven
